With women delaying childbearing to older ages, the diagnosis of cancer during pregnancy is increasing.<\/p>\n<p>Because of the lack of data on pregnancy and cancer treatment outcomes for mother and child, women decline cancer treatment during pregnancy, termination of pregnancy is recommended by their doctors, or women are encouraged to deliver their newborns prematurely in order to begin cancer treatment postpartum.<\/p>\n<p>A multi-center registry to record all cases of cancer diagnosed during pregnancy, included cases treated with chemotherapy during pregnancy with their respective outcomes is vital. Only by this means may we accrue the data we need to offer optimal treatment to our patients.<\/p>\n<p>This is the purpose of the Cancer and Pregnancy Registry maintained at Cooper Medical School at Rowan University. Loves to dance, sing\u00a0(auditioning for her school play today and <em>wants <\/em>nothing <em>but <\/em>a lead) plays basketball and softball.\u00a0Lauren Is very outgoing and not shy at all. She is sensitive- sometimes to a fault. Not always <em>the <\/em>best\u00a0student, a little lazy and loses focus when she finds things difficult. She is working on this and has done\u00a0much better this year. I'm hoping she's growing out of it. (My son had a lot <em>of <\/em>the same issues) Her\u00a0teachers love her though, always trying to change the subject from the C she got in math to \u201cwhat a\u00a0lovely girl she Is,\u201d during her conferences. She's living in a house where all her siblings are now adults so It can be a bit challenging sometimes, but she is good. Her siblings want to kill their annoying little sister\u00a0most days but I think that's normal and I remind them that she still HAS to live here, they don't.<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">We are a little extra cautious with Laurens health but all in all she is a pretty normal kid. We are\u00a0so lucky to have found you when we did. I had some doctors who realty didn't have a clue what direction to send me. I just remember how at ease you put me during the worst time of my life. Thank You from the bottom of my heart.<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>~\u00a0Kelly<\/em><\/p>\r\n[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]\r\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">I wish you were able to see my \u201canxiety meter.\u201d Since our meeting, it has plummeted to the level where all other normal mid-thirty mothers are. I look at Will with confidence now, instead of worry. What an incredible gift you have given my family. The gift of knowing for sure that our decisions didn\u2019t harm our child.<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">I wonder if you\u2019ll ever truly realize the magnitude of the research you are doing. There will probably be thousands of women who will look to it someday. They\u2019ll be silently praying for something hopeful to answer the questions that their doctors can\u2019t.
